‘Battlefield 6’ Trailer Drops: New Big Look at What’s Coming
Battlefield 6 will be out on October 10, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S. This will actually be the eighteenth Battlefield game so far.
The campaign takes place in the year 2027. The plot follows a group called Dagger 13, a special team of Marine Raiders.
They go up against Pax Armata, a private military company that wants to take over while NATO is falling apart. In the words of the game’s premise, Pax Armata wants to “reshape global power as NATO teeters on the edge of collapse.”
Now, Battlefield Studios revealed a new look at the game with a flashy new trailer:
This is all-out warfare. This is #Battlefield6.

Battlefield 2042, came out in 2021 but wasn’t very well received. Development for the new title started after that, this time led by Vince Zampella. The new game takes inspiration from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, which were known for their more serious tone.
The budget for this project is also massive, reportedly over 400 million dollars, making it one of the most expensive video games ever created.
Battlefield 6 sticks to being a first-person shooter like its predecessors but adds a lot of changes. Players can choose from four main classes. Assault soldiers carry assault rifles and grenade launchers and heal faster.
Engineers handle submachine guns, fix friendly vehicles, and destroy enemy tanks or aircraft with rockets. Support soldiers rely on light machine guns, resupply ammo, and help with healing and reviving. Recon fighters act as snipers, spot enemies, and have a unique perk, when they score a headshot, that enemy cannot be revived.
Weapons can be customized with mods, though each gun has a set number of slots. The game also introduces something new called the Kinesthetic Combat System.
With this, players can lean around cover, hitchhike onto vehicles, and drag wounded teammates to safety before reviving them. Wikipedia also notes that destruction is back in a big way. Buildings and floors can collapse, opening up new paths mid-battle. Maps are large and designed for both infantry and vehicles, and each map also has smaller “Combat Zones” for closer fights. At launch, nine maps will be available, with more arriving later through updates.
The comes with a mix of old and new game modes. Players can expect Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and even the return of the battle royale mode first seen in Battlefield V.
One completely new mode is called Escalation. In this mode, teams fight for control points, but the number of points shrinks over time. This forces everyone into tighter areas, making battles more intense.
The Portal system from Battlefield 2042 is also returning. This feature lets players create and edit custom maps and game modes. This time, the tool uses the Godot engine for more flexibility.
