Beau DeMayo Creator of ‘X-Men ’97’ Fired Ahead of Show’s Premiere in a Shocking Turn of Events

Beau DeMayo, who was working on ‘X-Men ’97’, got fired just a few weeks before the show’s release on March 20th, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. This news surprised many because Beau was deeply involved with future MCU projects, including ‘Blade’, which is facing its own issues. What’s more, DeMayo had finished the second season of ‘X-Men ’97’ and was brainstorming for the third. No one knows why he was let go, and neither he nor his reps are talking. His Instagram disappeared, and his email was shut down too.

This whole situation with Disney firing Beau DeMayo out of the blue is pretty shocking. Disney has a history of letting go of big names like Depp and Gunn, and more recently Jonathan Majors, but usually, there are signs before it happens.DeMayo was brought on board by Marvel in November 2021, and a lot of people were happy about it because he’s a gay Black guy who shared how his life experiences made him relate to the X-Men’s struggle for acceptance. He was pretty active on social media, sharing stuff about X-Men and his workouts pretty regularly.

He even had an Only Fans account that wasn’t too racy, earning him the title “the Sexy, Gay Marvel Writer & Showrunner.”We’re hoping to get more details on why he was fired soon. ‘X-Men ’97’ is still set to debut with two episodes on March 20, and the first season will have 10 episodes.
