Beavis and Butt-Head are coming back to TV, and they’re as dumb and hilarious as ever. Comedy Central has set the release date for the third season of the revived series, with new episodes starting on September 3, 2025.

This isn’t just the third season of the revival, it’s the eleventh season overall in the long, weird history of the show. The first two revival seasons were streaming on Paramount+, but back in June 2024, Paramount decided the series would move to Comedy Central instead.

Along with the release date, Paramount has also dropped a trailer for the new season. It features the two iconic idiots getting a shoutout from Metallica in what looks like a dream. Then, things go full Beavis and Butt-Head when they try to figure out how much it would cost to buy the band, and end up throwing a gold bar at James Hetfield’s head.

The show has been brought back before. It first ended in 1997 after seven seasons on MTV. Then it came back for an eighth season in 2011. There’s also been two movies, Beavis & Butt-Head Do America in 1996, and Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe in 2022, which was released on Paramount+. And don’t forget Daria, the spinoff starring the show’s smartest character, which ran for five seasons on MTV.

The creator of the series, Mike Judge, still voices both Beavis and Butt-Head and a bunch of other characters. He’s also one of the executive producers on the new season, along with Lew Morton, Michael Rotenberg, and the animation crew from Titmouse — that includes Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio.

This isn’t the only cartoon Mike Judge is bringing back. He’s also reviving King of the Hill, the classic animated show he co-created with Greg Daniels. That one premieres August 4 on Hulu with a brand-new 10-episode season.

So if you missed the stupid laughs of Beavis and Butt-Head, don’t worry. They’ll be back soon, and they haven’t changed one bit.
