Gael Cameron’s journey on ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ has played out in front of millions of viewers. The chief stew met deckhand Nathan Gallagher while working together on Season 9, and their whirlwind romance quickly became one of the show’s biggest storylines.

Their relationship was far from smooth. The couple’s brief split was documented during Season 10, but they later reconciled, announced a surprise pregnancy, and welcomed a son, Kayden.

Behind the scenes, however, the relationship took a far more serious turn. Gallagher was arrested in Australia in December 2025 on domestic violence charges related to an incident involving Cameron.

After he failed to appear at Burwood Local Court in Sydney on September 1, he was convicted in his absence on all 3 charges. New South Wales Police believe the 28-year-old Irishman fled Australia and is currently offshore.

Bravo has since fired Gallagher, who appeared on Seasons 9, 10 and 11 of the series. Cameron also sought an apprehended violence order, which resulted in a 2-year court order being granted in New South Wales.

Now, with Season 11 of ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ wrapping up, Cameron has opened up again about her life and healing. In recent Instagram posts, the 30-year-old reflected on the end of another season of the show and what she described as the close of another chapter in her life.

She also shared candidly about the emotional toll of the past year. Cameron explained that she felt she had lost herself and her spark, and credited her best friend with sitting by her side and letting her talk through what happened.

Her posts suggest she is focused on rebuilding her life with her son and moving forward. In earlier updates, she said she was trying to heal quietly and thanked supporters for the kindness she received during the ongoing case.

Gallagher’s legal issues extend beyond Australia. He is also reportedly wanted in Ireland in connection with an alleged August 2022 assault on another man, with an active bench warrant filed in April 2025. Authorities in Australia are still attempting to locate him following his conviction. For now, his whereabouts remain unknown.

The circumstances have cast a long shadow over Season 11. Viewers watching the season unfold have done so knowing about the serious events that took place away from the cameras.

For many fans, Cameron’s openness has been both difficult and inspiring to witness. Her willingness to share her experience has drawn a wave of support from viewers and followers.

Cameron has not shared many details about her relationship publicly, choosing instead to focus on her son and her own recovery. Her recent messages suggest she is taking things one day at a time.

As the latest season of ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ comes to a close, Cameron appears ready to begin a new chapter. Fans will no doubt continue cheering her on as she rebuilds her life on her own terms.
