Ben Affleck Shares Awkward Moment with Exes Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner at Kids’ School Play

Ben Affleck had an unusual night out on Friday as he attended a school play with both of his exes, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez. The event brought together Affleck and Garner’s daughter Seraphina and Lopez’s daughter Emme, who both starred in the performance.

Photos obtained by Page Six show Affleck and Garner walking into a Los Angeles playhouse with their son, Samuel, 13. Lopez, 56, arrived separately with her mother, Guadalupe, and her manager, Benny Medina.

While she was seen talking to other parents and children, she did not interact with Affleck or Garner in public. At one point, Affleck and Lopez were in view of each other, but they were speaking to different groups, with Affleck’s back turned to Lopez. Samuel did share a moment with Lopez, laughing and smiling outside the venue.

Affleck, 53, and Garner, 53, were married in 2005 and divorced in 2018 after sharing three children. Even after their split, Garner continued to support Affleck through personal challenges and has maintained a strong co-parenting relationship with him.

After his divorce from Garner, Affleck reconnected with Lopez in 2021, nearly 20 years after their first engagement in 2002. The couple married in July 2022 but separated in April 2024, with Lopez filing for divorce later that year. Affleck later described the split as “no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue.”

Affleck has been open about his past relationships and the intense media attention that has come with them. He first dated Lopez from 2002 to 2004, a relationship famously dubbed “Bennifer” by the tabloids. “I think Jen and I made a mistake in that we fell in love, we were excited and maybe too accessible,” Affleck said about the scrutiny they faced during that time.

Before Lopez, Affleck had been married to Garner and also had high-profile relationships with Gwyneth Paltrow, Lindsay Shookus, and Ana de Armas. Throughout his life in the spotlight, Affleck has been vocal about protecting his children from paparazzi, even supporting legislation to limit photos of celebrity kids in public spaces.

The school play event offered a glimpse into Affleck’s life as a father navigating relationships with multiple co-parents. Despite the awkward setting, it seemed the main focus remained on the children enjoying their performance.
