Disney and Marvel Studios are ready to release the newest MCU movie — Thor: Love and Thunder — in less than a week. But you know how it is with Marvel, you always need to look further into the future. Next November, Marvel Studios will release the 30th movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Black Panther: Wakanda Forever — which will debut a new character — Namor — who can be easily described as Marvel’s Aquaman.

Twitter account MCU Facility recently shared promo art which gives us the first look at Namor, who will be played by the Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta. Namor will be an antagonist in the movie. Huerta reportedly had to learn the Mayan language for the role. You can check the promo art down below:

Namor McKenzie, also known as Sub-Mariner, was created by Bill Everett and the character was first introduced in the comics in October 1939. Namor is a mutant son of a human sea captain and a princess of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Sounds familiar?

Black Panther 2 was officially announced at D23 Expo in August 2019. The movie was later officially titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In August 2020, the main star of the first Black Panther movie passed away from colon cancer. Kevin Feige announced that they will not look for a new actor to play the role of T’Challa, but, T’Challa isn’t the only character who donned the suit of Black Panther.

It’s not known who will play the titular role in the sequel, but the majority of the cast from the original movie will return, including Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett. Dominique Thorne will also make her debut as Riri Williams/Ironheart before her own spin-off series on Disney+.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released on November 11, 2022.
