Blake Lively Fights Back Against ‘Online Content Creators’ Amplifying Justin Baldoni’s Claims

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, co-stars from It Ends With Us, are in the middle of a legal dispute that touches on serious issues like harassment, consent, and the public’s role in shaping a celebrity’s image. As the drama unfolds, it has become a hot topic for online content creators, but things could soon escalate.
To avoid further damage, Lively has asked a judge to keep sensitive details private and out of the hands of TikTok and YouTube commentators. She is suing Baldoni for sexual harassment and retaliation, while Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios group have filed a defamation suit against her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Last week, Lively filed a request for a protective order to keep certain private information confidential, including financial records, health data, and details about other well-known individuals.
However, Baldoni’s lawyers responded on Tuesday, agreeing to a general protective order but refusing to accept the additional secrecy that Lively’s team is asking for. In their response, they hinted at Lively’s “tarnished image” and criticized Ryan Reynolds for making jokes about the situation at the SNL 50th anniversary special.
Lively’s legal team fired back in their own response, arguing that Baldoni’s reaction proves exactly why extra privacy measures are necessary. They pointed to “certain online content creators” who are echoing the narrative pushed by Baldoni and his team.
Specifically, they mentioned Perez Hilton and Candace Owens, noting that Hilton and Baldoni both share the same attorney, Bryan Freedman. Lively’s lawyers claim these online voices are influencing the media coverage of the case in a way that harms Lively’s reputation.
“The travels of the mischaracterization embraced by the Opposition through this manufactured echo chamber, by itself, provides ample justification for a Protective Order that establishes adequate protections for third-party privacy interests,” Lively’s attorneys said.
Additionally, Lively’s team used this opportunity to criticize Baldoni and his legal team, accusing them of showing “callous disregard and disrespect for a woman advocating for the most basic workplace protections against sexual harassment.”
They also reminded the court that protective orders are a normal and necessary part of any civil lawsuit, even in less complicated cases.
The two sides are also clashing over the extent of Lively’s subpoenas to phone companies. Both Lively and Baldoni have claimed that the ongoing legal battle has led to violent threats from the public.
