The second season of Netflix’s Blood of Zeus has been confirmed but a release date has not been confirmed, as far as we know now. The rest of this article is going to bring you all the known and unknown information related to the upcoming Season 2 of Blood of Zeus. You’re going to find out about its potential release date this year, whether there is a trailer, what the story will probably be about, and much more about this amazing animated series.

Blood of Zeus Season 2 release date

Blood of Zeus is a show based on an original concept created by Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides. The show follows a story from Greek mythology and includes many famous personas from Greek stories. The first season had a total of eight episodes and the whole batch premiered on Netflix on October 27, 2020.

“We’ve planned out what we would hope to be a five-season arc. It all depends on whether we get viewership [that will decide if] we get a second season,” creators Charley and Vlas Parlapanides told in an interview before the show had been renewed for a second season. The story would, thus, probably have around 40 episodes, which would conclude the planned story arc in the best way possible.

We know that Netflix usually gives a show around four weeks before it reviews the viewership ratings and decides on a show’s future. In accordance with that, a confirmation of a second season arrived in December 2020, roughly two months after the show premiered. It was revealed via Twitter:

So, what about the release date? From what we know at this moment, Season 2 of Blood of Zeus is going to be released either in late 2022 or, which is more probable, in 2023. Netflix still hasn’t provided us with a release date or a release window, at that, which means that the show probably won’t premiere this year, but we don’t think we’ll have to wait long.

Blood of Zeus Season 2 trailer

You now know all the facts and our thoughts related to Blood of Zeus Season 2, and while you might have thought otherwise, there is currently no trailer for the upcoming s second season of Blood of Zeus. We do know that the season is going to air relatively soon, but we do not know how advanced the production is at the moment, so it might be a couple of months before we actually see a trailer, depending on when Netflix plans to release the show.

As we have said, Blood of Zeus was a very likely candidate for a return from the very beginning. The series was enormously popular when it debuted on Netflix and it has a large fandom; on top of that, the creators behind the series have revealed that there are plans for at least five seasons, so there’s still a lot more story to tell. We’re hopeful that Netflix is going to follow up on those ideas.

Taking into account everything we’ve said, a trailer for Blood of Zeus Season 2 is probably going to premiere soon. It might be weeks or a couple of months, but we assume that we are going to see at least a teaser before the end of summer this year, unless, of course, Netflix decides to push back the season’s premiere to late 2023.

Blood of Zeus Season 2 plot

As you might have guessed, Blood of Zeus is an original animated series, which means that it is not based on any preexisting work. This means that we don’t actually know much about the plot of Season 2 of Blood of Zeus, save for the fact that the protagonists are going to face new threats of various origins, but that’s pretty much it as far as we know. Because of that, we are going to give you an overview of the plot so far.

Alexia chases two demons near a village where Heron works as a miner. Since his mother is unmarried and he is a bastard, they are mistreated by the villagers. His only friend is Elias, an older man. When a demon attacks Heron, Alexia wounds and captures it while concealing herself in human form. Alexia then explains that a cult of humans turned into demons approaches and burns the humans, revealing its demonic face to the villagers.

Elijah explains to Heron that the Olympian gods have defeated the giants born from the blood of the last fallen Titan. Zeus then made a deal with two giants so that they betray their companions and throw their bodies into the sea, locking their souls in a cauldron forged by Hephaestus and guarded by Talos. Later, a human cult discovered a giant’s body, which ate the giant’s flesh and became demons.

Alexia invites Heron to become a member of her troop, but he does not want to save the villagers because of their mistreatment. The men in the village accuse Heron’s mother of being a demon and try to burn her, only for her to set herself on fire to prove she is human after beating Heron. Knowing that war is coming, Elias challenges Heron to extract the powerful adamantine metal from the top of a mountain in order to make a sword. Elias, who is revealed to be Zeus in disguise, is then confronted by Ares, who is surprised that Zeus wants Heron to rule humanity.

Heron dreams of a queen who gives birth to two sons, one from her husband and the other from another man. Heron brings the metal to Elias, who then begins to forge a sword and tells him that his dream was actually induced by the three Oneiroi – Phobetor, Phantasos, and Morpheus – the respective deities of nightmares, illusions, and visions. Heron then confronts his mother, who admits she was once Electra, the Queen of Corinth. At one point, Zeus fell in love with her, and she soon became pregnant.

Zeus’ wife Hera found out about Zeus’ infidelity and she sent the Oneiroi out of revenge to tell the king about the infidelity in his dreams. When Electra gave birth to twins, the king tried to kill the son who wasn’t his, Heron, but Zeus intervened, and Elektra killed the ruler. Zeus then concealed Heron and Electra under a layer of clouds so Hera could never find them, while Heron’s twin brother was abandoned and murdered by an uncle who wanted the crown of Corinth.

Realizing that Elias is his father, Zeus, Heron attempts to confront him but only finds a completed sword, which Heron refuses to take by impaling it on a rock. The cult leader kills Alexia’s soldiers, but Alexia escapes with a map of their main camp, so a three-headed dog is sent after her. Zeus reveals himself to Heron, asking for forgiveness, but leaves after Heron rejects him.

Alexia arrives with the dog chasing her, so she runs away with Heron. Hera wovs to kill both Electra and Heron, so Zeus threatens her to put Electra’s life in the hands of fate. Zeus secretly removes the protective clouds so he can see Heron. The demons attack, so the villagers flee to safety through Heron’s iron mine. Heron causes a rockfall that crushes several demons, so the demon leader tries to kill him.

Heron only survives after Zeus warns him telepathically. Electra also manages to hide from the monsters, but the demon leader Seraphim asks the villagers to tell her where Alexia is. Electra kills her when Cerberus picks up Alexia’s scent. Zeus hides Alexia’s scent with a rosebush. Seeing Zeus actively intervening, Hera decides to intervene herself and redirects Cerberus to Electra.

Hera and the other gods confront Zeus, reminding him that Elektra’s life would be in the hands of fate. According to Zeus’ laws, they would have the right to execute Zeus to keep the peace between them. Zeus must watch Seraphim execute Elektra and capture Heron to turn him into a demon. Hera rejoices in Zeus’ misery while Seraphim takes Electra’s necklace in memory of Heron and his deceased brother.
