Vince Gilligan, the mastermind behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is back with a brand-new sci-fi series for Apple TV+ called Pluribus, and it’s already generating huge buzz. The series, stylized as PLUR1BUS, stars Rhea Seehorn, who worked with Gilligan on Better Call Saul, and Apple has ordered two seasons for the platform.

Apple has kept most of the story a mystery, only releasing a short synopsis that says, “The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” The teasers have been short but ominous, giving viewers a taste of the dark and strange energy the show promises.

Even though details are scarce, Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, already knows the series is going to be huge.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “I don’t know a damn thing. But I know it’s going to be massive. Massive! It’s going to be the biggest thing, well, since sliced bread, but really since Game of Thrones. You probably know what’s biggest [lately], but probably since Severance. I know Severance, in its way, is a big, big effort. So I think that [Pluribus] is going to be the next big show, and I can’t wait.”

The show is set in Albuquerque, but the world shifts in unexpected and mysterious ways. Rhea Seehorn stars as Carol, with Karolina Wydra playing Zosia and Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manusos. Guest appearances include Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte.

After finishing Better Call Saul, Gilligan pitched Pluribus in August 2022 with Sony Pictures Television, and by the next month, Apple TV+ had secured the rights with a two-season order. Gilligan serves as showrunner and executive producer.

Writing the first season was delayed due to the 2023 WGA strike, but the team finished the final two episodes in October 2023. Filming started in February 2024 under the working title Wycaro 339 in Albuquerque and wrapped in September 2024. The official title Pluribus and the release date were announced in July 2025.

Pluribus is set to premiere its first two episodes on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025, with new episodes dropping every Friday through December 26. With Gilligan at the helm and Odenkirk already hyped, fans are expecting nothing less than a Game of Thrones-level event.
