Bodycam Footage of DWI Arrest Justin Timberlake (45) Tried to Block Via Court is Now Released
Justin Timberlake’s 2024 DWI arrest bodycam footage has now been made public after a court decision in New York.
The release came after a legal fight between Timberlake and the Sag Harbor Village Police Department, according to reporting from Variety. He had earlier tried to block the footage from being released, but a judge approved its release after a settlement was reached.
Timberlake had argued in court that making the video public would damage his reputation and lead to unwanted attention. At first, a temporary order had stopped the release. But later, he agreed that the footage did not count as an invasion of privacy under the final agreement.
The video shows the moment police stopped him in Sag Harbor after noticing his car drifting between lanes and not following traffic rules. Officers then began a roadside investigation. During the stop, Timberlake tells police he is on tour and explains himself in a short exchange. “I’m on a world tour. Hard to explain. A world tour. I’m Justin Timberlake.”
Later in the footage, officers ask him to complete sobriety tests. He follows their instructions but appears unsteady. He also admits how he is feeling during the situation. “I’m a little nervous… my heart is racing.”
The arrest originally took place in June 2024 after police reported signs of impaired driving. According to the arresting officer, Timberlake’s eyes appeared red and glassy, and he struggled during field tests. He told officers he had one drink and refused a Breathalyzer test.

Months later, he resolved the case by pleading guilty to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired. He was fined $500 and ordered to complete community service.
The release of the footage brings new public attention to the case, which had already been widely discussed since his arrest.
This situation shows how difficult it is for public figures to keep personal legal issues private. At the same time, it also shows that court records and transparency rules can override privacy concerns once a case is resolved. What do you think about the release of this footage?
