Brad Pitt might be one of the most famous actors in the world, but that doesn’t mean he’s proud of everything he’s done. Even with a long list of hits and awards, there are a couple of movies from earlier in his career that he’s not happy with.

He’s talked about them in different interviews over the years, and he’s been pretty honest about it.

One movie that Brad regrets doing is Meet Joe Black, a romantic drama from 1998. The movie was directed by Martin Brest and starred Pitt as Death, who comes to Earth and ends up falling in love with a woman. Anthony Hopkins and Claire Forlani were also in the film. On paper, the movie had everything. a strong cast, an interesting story, and a big studio behind it. But it didn’t really land the way people hoped.

The film looked great, but a lot of viewers and critics said it was way too long and that Brad’s performance didn’t feel natural. On Rotten Tomatoes, it only has a 45% rating from critics. Some reviews said his character was “emotionally distant” and “unclear.”

Brad himself has said he didn’t do a good job. In an interview, he admitted, “I dogged it. I muffed it.” He said he wasn’t in the right place at the time and didn’t give it his best. “It was the pinnacle of my… loss of direction and compass,” he said. While he praised Anthony Hopkins’ acting, he felt like he just didn’t connect with the role at all.

The other film he’s not proud of is A River Runs Through It, which came out in 1992. It was directed by Robert Redford and was based on a book by Norman Maclean. The story was about two brothers growing up in Montana between the two World Wars. Brad played the younger brother, Paul, a journalist who lived on the edge and took a lot of risks.

The movie got great reviews and even won an Oscar for Best Cinematography. Critics saw it as a big moment for Pitt, helping him move from rising star to serious actor. But Brad didn’t feel the same way about it.

He later said, “Robert Redford made a quality movie. But I don’t think I was skilled enough. I think I could have done better.” He also explained that he felt pressure, especially because his character was based on a real person. “Maybe it was the pressure of the part, and playing someone who was a real person — and the family was around occasionally — and not wanting to let Redford down,” he said.

Even though the movie helped launch his career, Brad still thinks he didn’t give the role everything he could have.
