Brad Pitt is back as Cliff Booth, and fans got their new look at him on the set of the highly anticipated sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The new movie, called The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino. It takes place in 1977, about eight years after the events of the first film.

Photos from the set show Pitt in and out of character, looking relaxed and cool as always. The cast is stacked with names like Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, JB Tadena, and Corey Fogelmanis.

While the pictures don’t reveal much about the story, they give a glimpse of the stylish vibe the movie will have, very much in line with Tarantino’s signature Hollywood flair.

The plot follows Cliff Booth as he steps into a new phase of his life working as a Hollywood fixer, handling the behind-the-scenes troubles on big film productions. This sequel has been in the works for some time. Back in 2021, Tarantino talked about wanting to explore Cliff’s time in a POW camp during World War II. He said, “Someday I’ll do his adventure in the POW camp.” That idea changed over time and turned into this new story.

Earlier in 2024, Tarantino was working on a different project called The Movie Critic. But that script eventually evolved into the next chapter of Cliff Booth’s story. According to Deadline and other news sources, Netflix bought the script and brought David Fincher on board to direct. Pitt was confirmed to return as Cliff, and there were rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio might come back as Rick Dalton, but nothing official has been announced yet.

The cast started coming together by mid-2025, with Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan joining first. Then Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, and Holt McCallany were added in June. JB Tadena and Corey Fogelmanis came on later, rounding out the main cast. The film’s title was shortened from The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth to The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Filming began on July 28, 2025, in California and is expected to finish by early 2026. With talented people like Fincher directing and Tarantino writing, fans have high hopes for the movie.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the story, but from what’s been shared and the cool first-look photos, it’s clear Cliff Booth’s journey is far from over.
