Bradley Cooper Finally Addresses Plastic Surgery Speculation

Bradley Cooper is reacting to the growing talk about his appearance, as rumors swirl online that he may have had plastic surgery.

The actor spoke about it briefly while appearing on Monday’s episode of the SmartLess podcast. During the conversation, Cooper didn’t directly deny the claims, but he made it clear the attention has surprised him. The podcast episode and excerpts from it were later shared by E! News.

The topic came up when co-host Will Arnett, who recently worked with Cooper on the new movie Is This Thing On?, was asked to share something most people don’t know about his longtime friend and collaborator. Arnett said there were many things he could mention, but one rumor kept coming up.

“I was gonna say, because we keep reading … everybody thinks that Bradley’s had plastic surgery. Everybody keeps saying that. I’m like, ‘What people don’t know is that he hasn’t!’” Arnett said.

Cooper then jumped into the conversation and said the whole situation caught him off guard. He explained that people have recently been complimenting him in ways that stood out.

“Some people came up to me in the last couple of weeks,” Cooper said, “and they’re like, ‘Oh, you look good!’”

Arnett added that the speculation has been frustrating for him to watch from the sidelines. He said rumors like these are common and often baseless.

“People say that all the time, and it’s a hilarious thing,” Arnett said. “Everybody thinks that they know. You know, you read that ******** stuff.”

The rumors gained traction after Cooper appeared at the 2025 New York Film Festival in October.

Photos from the red carpet, where he posed alongside Arnett and Laura Dern at the world premiere of Is This Thing On?, spread quickly online. Some social media users claimed his face looked different and speculated that he may have had cosmetic work done, including a facelift.

Despite the focus on his looks, Cooper’s latest project has been getting strong reviews. Rolling Stone praised Is This Thing On?, calling it “a totally unexpected, left-field triumph.”

The film is a dramedy directed by Cooper and written by Cooper, Arnett, and Mark Chappell. It follows Alex Novak, played by Arnett, a newly single father who turns to stand-up comedy after separating from his wife, Tess, played by Dern. The movie marks Cooper’s third time directing, following A Star is Born in 2018 and Maestro in 2023.
