‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Part 2 Trailer Finally Drops — Benedict and Sophie’s High-Stakes Romance Reaches a Breaking Point
The trailer for Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 is out, and it makes one thing clear. The love story between Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton is about to face its hardest test yet. The final four episodes arrive on Netflix on Feb. 26, and the emotional stakes are higher than ever.
In the new footage, viewers see a very different side of Benedict. Actor Luke Thompson says the second half of the season shows a version of the character fans have not seen before. “This is maybe not the story that we would’ve expected for Benedict. It’s a very different Benedict that we see in Part 2,” he explains.
Part 1 ended with a moment that changed everything. Benedict made a risky offer to Sophie, played by Yerin Ha, and Sophie walked away without answering. Her reaction is at the heart of Part 2. Sophie has been let down by people in power before, and that history shapes how she sees Benedict and his promises. Ha explains, “She doesn’t trust anyone who says, ‘I promise this for you,’ because that has never been true for Sophie.”
True love is worth the risk.

The trailer also shows that Benedict has far more to lose than he may realize. Violet Bridgerton, played by Ruth Gemmell, hints at the social cost her son would face if he followed his heart. A relationship with a maid could shut Benedict out of society and damage his bond with his own family. Even with his status, he is not protected from the rules of the ton.
Still, the connection between Sophie and Benedict refuses to fade. Despite fear, pressure, and real consequences, their feelings continue to pull them back together. The trailer leans into this tension, asking whether love is worth the price they may have to pay.
Both characters are not alone as they struggle with these choices. Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, returns from India with his wife Kate, portrayed by Simone Ashley. Anthony steps back into his role as the blunt older brother, offering Benedict direct advice when he needs it most. The couple also brings home their baby, the new heir, briefly seen in the trailer.
Sophie finds support from Alfie, a footman at Penwood House played by David Moorst. He pushes her to stop running from her feelings and consider what she truly wants, even if it scares her.
Beyond the central romance, other characters are also at crossroads. Violet grows closer to Lord Marcus Anderson, played by Daniel Francis, and begins to question what she wants for herself after years of putting her family first. Showrunner Jess Brownell says, “She’s spent so much of her life being the emotional anchor for her family. This is her finally allowing herself to ask [for] what she wants.”
The wider ton is shifting too. Lady Danbury, portrayed by Adjoa Andoh, still dreams of leaving society behind, while Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuvel, holds the power to stop or allow that choice. Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, must adjust to new family dynamics after the arrival of Michaela Stirling, portrayed by Masali Baduza. And Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan, now sits closer to the queen than ever, raising questions about what Lady Whistledown will do next.
