Bryan Fuller, the creator of the TV show Hannibal, has shared his dream of making a limited series based on The Silence of the Lambs.

He wants Zendaya to play Clarice Starling and Mads Mikkelsen to return as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, according to an interview with ScreenRant at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The characters of Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter were first introduced in Thomas Harris’ novels, including Red Dragon, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising. Clarice is known as a clever and resourceful character, and her screen presence has made her one of the most memorable figures in modern thriller stories.

Over the years, she has been portrayed by several actors, with Jodie Foster’s performance in the 1991 film being the most famous. Julianne Moore and Rebecca Breeds have also played her in later adaptations.

During the interview, Fuller explained his vision while promoting his new horror film, Dust Bunny, which stars Mads Mikkelsen. When asked about the possibility of a Hannibal return, Fuller said, “My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.”

Fuller’s plan would bring back the psychological tension and dark tone that made his Hannibal series famous. Fans of the original show may be excited at the idea of seeing these iconic characters in a new story with fresh actors.
