Landing a major franchise role tends to open plenty of doors, but not every rising star manages to build a genuine fashion presence alongside their acting career at the same time. Few actors her age have managed to balance both worlds quite as seamlessly as Callina Liang has over the past year.
Between a Sundance breakout and an upcoming turn as one of gaming’s most iconic characters, Liang has quietly built a reputation that extends well beyond the screen. Her latest set of photos only reinforces just how firmly she’s positioned herself within high fashion circles.
New images of Liang have surfaced online, marking her latest appearance as a face for Miu Miu, continuing a relationship with the Italian luxury house that’s placed her alongside some of fashion’s most closely watched campaigns. The photos, shared via Instagram, show her styled in the brand’s signature aesthetic against an urban night backdrop.
Liang’s connection to Miu Miu isn’t a new development. She previously starred in the brand’s L’Été 2025 campaign, photographed by artist and documentary filmmaker Siân Davey in a lush garden setting alongside actress and model Diana Silvers, marking Davey’s first venture into fashion photography. That earlier campaign leaned into childhood-inspired dress codes, reimagined through cotton sundresses, aviator jackets, and school-uniform greys.
Her continued presence within Miu Miu’s world speaks to how quickly she’s become a recognizable face in high fashion, even as her acting career pulls her in an entirely different creative direction. Few actresses her age can claim both a Sundance breakout and a recurring spot in a major luxury campaign within the same stretch of years.
Liang first caught wider attention through her role in Steven Soderbergh’s psychological horror thriller, where she played a troubled teenager opposite Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, and Julia Fox after the film’s Sundance premiere. That same year, she also took on a lead role in J.C. Lee’s ‘Bad Genius,’ playing a student who masterminds an underground cheating operation.

That range has only expanded since. Liang is now set to star as Chun-Li in Legendary Entertainment’s live-action ‘Street Fighter‘ adaptation, opposite Noah Centineo’s Ken, making her the fourth actress to take on the character following Kristin Kreuk. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film arrives in theaters worldwide on October 16.
Liang’s path to Hollywood has been anything but conventional. Born in Vancouver, she spent her childhood moving between Beijing, Sydney, and Singapore before eventually settling between Toronto and London, an upbringing that left her fluent in both English and Mandarin.
That global background has clearly informed how she approaches her career, and it’s part of why her casting as Chun-Li, an Interpol officer with roots spanning multiple cultures, feels like such a natural fit. Liang has also spoken about wanting the industry to move further away from typecasting, hoping to see acting become a space where craft matters more than appearance.
