Cameron Diaz Is Having Botox Regret: Prefers Aging Naturally
Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has admitted she regrets ever trying Botox, saying it made her feel like she no longer recognized her own face. The Charlie’s Angels star revealed that the cosmetic injections changed her features in a way that felt unnatural.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight correspondent Beth Stern in 2014, Diaz reflected on her brief experience with Botox at age 41. “I’ve tried [Botox] before, where it was like [a] little tiny touch of something. It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to [be] like [that],” she explained. She added, “I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.”
Diaz said the treatment made her feel disconnected from her natural expressions, and she quickly decided it wasn’t for her. She has since learned to appreciate her laugh lines, viewing them as signs of a life filled with joy. “I love it, I don’t mind. It’s like, ‘Guess what this means — I’ve smiled my whole life.’ I love life. I’m happy; I don’t have a problem with that,” she told ET.
According to the Daily Express US, Diaz faced significant pressure in Hollywood to maintain a youthful look. An insider said, “It’s no secret Cameron used to get a little bit of work, just like everybody else in her industry. She was under pressure to get Botox and all that stuff.” However, the actress disliked how the treatment altered her natural features and vowed never to do it again. “She hated it and promised she’ll never use it again,” the source added.
Today, Diaz focuses on self-care and healthy living rather than cosmetic procedures. She has prioritized nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being, viewing aging as a privilege. In her book The Body Book, she encouraged readers to care for their bodies naturally.
Friends and fans have praised Diaz for embracing her natural look. “Everyone has noticed Cameron’s happy, healthy glow, and she always credits her laidback lifestyle out of the spotlight. For the most part, she’s totally over Hollywood and all the superficiality,” an insider said.
Diaz has also expressed sympathy for others in the industry who feel pressured to chase perfection through cosmetic treatments. “She feels sorry for those who work in the industry just to get their faces contorted, full of fillers and looking puffy and weird,” the source revealed.
