Capcom Breaks Records Thanks to ‘Monster Hunter’ and ‘Resident Evil’

Capcom has just announced its financial results for FY2025, and it’s clear the iconic Japanese game publisher had a fantastic year. The company reported record profits across all major categories for the eighth year in a row.

This marks the tenth consecutive year of operating income growth and the twelfth consecutive year of general operating income growth. Capcom proudly stated that it achieved the “Highest consolidated sales and operating income in Capcom history.

Capcom’s financial results show that net sales reached 169,604 million yen, which is an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year. Operating income hit 65,777 million yen, marking a 15.2% growth, while ordinary income was 65,635 million yen, up 10.5%. Finally, net income attributable to owners rose to 48,453 million yen, an 11.7% increase.

The star of the show this year was Monster Hunter Wilds. Since its launch on February 28th, 2025, the game has sold a massive 10,108,000 copies. Capcom’s top ten best-selling titles for the year were mostly made up of Monster Hunter and Resident Evil games, with only Street Fighter 6 representing another franchise.

Looking ahead to FY2026, Capcom plans to continue its successful streak. The company has announced that Street Fighter 6 will be coming to Switch 2, along with Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Fans can also look forward to the Onimusha 2 remaster on Switch, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and several unannounced titles.

Capcom aims to continue its growth, with a goal of achieving over 10% operating income growth for yet another year. There’s also speculation that Resident Evil 9 might be announced soon, given the success of the franchise. With the upcoming Switch 2 expected to have more power than its predecessor, Capcom is likely planning more native releases for the platform.

It’s clear that Capcom is on a roll, and fans can expect more exciting titles and big announcements in the coming months.
