Anthony Mackie is set to return as Sam Wilson/Captain America in his first solo movie! Mackie joined the MCU in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014 as Steve Rogers’ friend and ally known as the Falcon. Mackie reprised the role in Avengers: Age of Ultron (briefly), Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Chris Evans debuted as Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. Evans played the role in two Captain America sequels in 2014 and 2016, and four Avengers movies before he finished his MCU path in 2019.

At the end of Endgame, Steve Rogers gave Sam Wilson his shield, which Sam didn’t want to take at first, but he did eventually at the end of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series last year. The upcoming movie is set to be a follow-up to the series and it will lead the character to a new path in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
