Chainsaw Man is officially coming back with a new anime arc. The Assassins Arc has been announced, and fans got their first look during the Chainsaw Man stage event at Jump Festa 2026.

The announcement was paired with a short teaser trailer and a new visual, confirming that the manga adaptation will continue.

This news follows the strong performance of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which played in theaters around the world. With that story now complete, the anime is moving forward into the Assassins Arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. The reveal was shared live at Jump Festa and later posted through the official Chainsaw Man account on X.

At the time of the announcement, no release date was given. There were also no details about whether the Assassins Arc will be released as a TV series, another movie, or a different format. Information about the staff and cast has not been confirmed yet either.

The most recent Chainsaw Man project, the Reze Arc movie, was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at studio MAPPA. Masato Nakazono worked as assistant director, while Hiroshi Seko handled the script. Character designs were done by Kazutaka Sugiyama, and the music was composed by Kensuke Ushio. The original Chainsaw Man TV anime was directed by Ryu Nakayama and aired from October to December 2022.

For fans who want to catch up, the first season of Chainsaw Man is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The platform describes the series as follows: One day, as he was living his miserable life trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, he got betrayed and killed. As he was losing his consciousness, he made a deal with Pochita, and got resurrected as the “Chainsaw Man”: the owner of the Devil’s heart.

The announcement of the Assassins Arc shows that MAPPA and the production team are committed to continuing the story. While details are still limited, the teaser alone has already sparked a lot of excitement among fans.
