Chappell Roan Incident – Security Guard Breaks Silence on What Really Happened
Pascal Duvier is officially clarifying the details surrounding a highly publicized hotel confrontation in Brazil involving pop sensation Chappell Roan and the family of actor Jude Law.
The veteran security professional, who has previously worked for A-list stars like Kim Kardashian, broke his silence on March 25 to address what he described as a wave of misinformation.
According to Duvier, the claims currently being shared across social media are not only inaccurate but also constitute defamation against his professional character. The dispute stems from a March 21 incident at a luxury hotel in São Paulo, where Catherine Harding and her husband, soccer star Jorginho, were having breakfast with Harding’s 11-year-old daughter, Ada Law.
The family claimed that a security guard aggressively confronted them after Ada simply smiled at Roan from a distance. While the encounter reportedly left the young girl in tears, Duvier maintains that he was not actually employed by the Good Luck, Babe! singer during the trip.
In a statement shared to his Instagram, Duvier explained that he was present at the hotel to provide protection for a different, unnamed individual. “I do not normally address online rumors,” he began, before taking full responsibility for the specific interaction with Harding and her child.
He insisted that his actions were entirely independent of Roan’s management or her personal security detail, though he admitted the final outcome of the meeting was deeply regretful. Duvier characterized his approach as a tactical judgment call based on security data provided by the hotel and heightened risks at the location.
“My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions,” he stated, contradicting the family’s description of an extremely aggressive confrontation. Despite his defense, Jorginho previously described the guard’s behavior as completely disproportionate, noting that his stepdaughter never even approached the singer’s table.
Chappell Roan has also addressed the controversy, releasing a video to emphasize that she had no knowledge of the incident while it was occurring. The 28-year-old artist explained that she was simply enjoying her breakfast and did not see a woman or a child nearby.
“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child,” she clarified, supporting Duvier’s claim that he was not acting on her behalf or under her authority. While the security dispute dominated the headlines during her stay in Brazil, Roan was primarily in the country to headline Lollapalooza Brazil alongside Tyler, the Creator, and Sabrina Carpenter.
