Charlie Cox Slips Up and Reveals Heartbreaking ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ News
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be intense and full of action. The season will follow Daredevil, as he rallies a team to fight against Wilson Fisk, and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF). Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the season will continue the story from the first season and connect to other Marvel movies and shows. Disney+ is set to release the eight-episode season in March 2026, making it part of Phase Six of the MCU.
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, bringing the blind superhero to life once again. Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk. Other returning and new cast members include Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Murdock’s ex-girlfriend and Fisk’s Mental Health Commissioner, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as the late Foggy Nelson (via flashbacks most likely), and Wilson Bethel as the deadly marksman Bullseye.
Bethel hinted at surprises in this season, saying it would show “new sides to Dex’s personality that had not been seen before…fun, insane stuff.”
The season also brings back fan-favorite characters like Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Ritter told Marvel fans that it felt like “no time had passed since I starred as Jones in Marvel’s Netflix television series Jessica Jones,” and that playing her again in Born Again was creatively fulfilling. Cox described Jones as “an antihero” and said that she and Murdock share mutual respect despite their differences.
However, recent comments from Charlie Cox have caused a wave of heartbreak for fans. During a panel, he accidentally referred to the second season as the final season of the show.
Talking about the new Daredevil suits, Cox said: “I know there have been some leaked set photos so the one that we’ve just finished with in season 2 of Born Again I think is my favorite for a couple of reasons. One, because it is badass, but also because every suit that we’ve had in some way is represented in the comics. We’ve had a couple of red ones, two I think three red ones, we’ve had the She-Hulk golden, you know yellow and red, but there’s a particular, there’s something I can’t say without giving away too much, but there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics so it is unique to the show.

It’s possible that he was referring to “final episode” or something, or that Daredevil’s journey will continue in a different show.
Fans are especially curious about the special suit Cox mentioned in his panel remarks. Previous leaks showed him wearing a black Daredevil costume, but this design has appeared in comics before, making it unlikely to be the unique suit he hinted at.

Daredevil’s black suits have a long history. His first makeshift black suit was rough and simple, while the ‘Shadowland’ suit in 2010 appeared when he became corrupted by the demon Beast and led the Hand. Later, a third black suit combined Shadowland elements with his classic red design, which he wore for years until returning fully to red in 2018.
Filming for season two started on February 28, 2025, under the working title Out the Kitchen 2. Directors included Benson, Moorhead, Naim, MacDonald, and Barnes. Hillary Fyfe Spera returned as cinematographer, joined by Jeffrey Waldron for some episodes. Stunt coordinator Philip Silvera also returned from the first season. Scenes were shot across New York, including Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and Chelsea, with Cox spotted in his black Daredevil costume.
Filming wrapped on July 9, 2025, marking the end of production for what is now believed to be the show’s final season.
