Charlie Hunnam Shares Quality Time With Mom Jane During Chilly Tynemouth Coast Walk
Charlie Hunnam was recently spotted taking a break from his busy Hollywood schedule to spend some quality time with his mother, Jane. The 45-year-old actor was seen enjoying a brisk walk along the picturesque Tynemouth coast in North East England on Thursday, February 12.
Bundled up against the coastal chill, the Golden Globe nominee looked relaxed in a black overcoat, leather gloves, and a classic gray paperboy hat as he strolled along the shore. During the outing, Hunnam appeared to be balancing his downtime with professional or personal obligations, as he was seen engaged in a FaceTime call.
The actor, who was born in nearby Newcastle upon Tyne, has frequently returned to his roots in the North East to visit family between major filming projects. This quiet moment in the English winter provides a sharp contrast to the intense roles he has occupied on screen over the last several months.
His recent trip home follows a whirlwind start to the year, which included a notable appearance at the Critics’ Choice Awards in January. While at the event, Hunnam sparked a wave of social media speculation when he referred to his partner of over two decades, Morgana McNelis, as his wife.
While the couple has historically remained incredibly private about their relationship status, the comment led many to believe they may have secretly tied the knot after nearly 20 years together.

In terms of his professional life, Hunnam is currently riding a wave of critical acclaim for his transformative performance in the third season of the Netflix anthology series Monster. Having portrayed the infamous Ed Gein in the 2025 installment, he earned a nomination for Best Actor at both the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards.
He recently stated that he was blown away by the massive global viewership the season received, marking one of the most successful chapters in his career since the conclusion of Sons of Anarchy.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see him return to the Monster universe, as he has officially joined the cast of the fourth season, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. In a rare move for the anthology series, Hunnam will return to play a new character, Andrew Borden, the father of the titular Lizzie.
The role of the ill-fated Lizzie Borden will be played by Ella Beatty, the daughter of Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, with the season currently in production in Los Angeles. Beyond his work with Netflix, Hunnam is also set to star in the upcoming Prime Video series Criminal, an adaptation of the popular comic book series.
The gritty crime drama features an ensemble cast including Emilia Clarke, Adria Arjona, and Michael Mando, further solidifying his return to the high-stakes thriller genre that first made him a household name.
He is also attached to the independent film Denali, where he will serve as both lead actor and producer, continuing his expansion into behind-the-scenes creative roles. With his fourth season of Monster expected to debut later in the year, Hunnam remains one of the most prolific actors on the streaming circuit.
