Chris Evans Is Back! Russo Brothers Reveal Why in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
The first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday is now online, giving fans a first official look at Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers.
The short clip originally played in front of screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash last Friday. According to reports, many fans had already seen it after it leaked online earlier.
The teaser confirms a major return: Steve Rogers is back in the MCU, and he now has a child. This comes six years after Avengers: Endgame, which had seemed to provide a definitive ending for the character.
The teaser is expected to be the first of four, with upcoming clips focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, and a full-length teaser for the movie. Leaked details suggest Thor may be trying to reunite with his daughter, Love, while Doctor Doom’s storyline could put Rogers’ child in danger, especially following hints from the post-credits scene in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The Russo Brothers addressed Evans’ return on Instagram, explaining their reasoning for bringing back the character. “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this…” they wrote. Their statement highlights how important Steve Rogers remains to the story and to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to connect original heroes with new storylines, and the teasers suggest big stakes for both the old and new generations of characters. The buzz around Steve Rogers’ return shows that fans are eager to see how the story will unfold.
