The actor’s workouts follow his heist thriller Crime 101, which opened in theaters on February 13. Hemsworth plays Davis, a skilled jewel thief navigating a dangerous game along the Pacific Coast Highway. I had to pull from every bit of driving experience I had, even back to my days on ‘Rush,’ to make these heists feel visceral, Hemsworth told reporters during the film’s press tour. The movie also stars Halle Berry as a cynical insurance broker and Mark Ruffalo as the detective hot on Davis’s trail.
At the same time, Hemsworth is gearing up for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on December 18. After the lighter tone of Love and Thunder, Hemsworth teased a darker and more grounded path for Thor. I was talking to Kevin Feige about it, and we’ve got some ideas to do something pretty unique again, he revealed on a podcast.
Hemsworth credits his current shape to a new approach to fitness that emphasizes recovery alongside hard workouts. He recently told Men’s Health, Maintaining that level of intensity pushed my body into a chronic state of stress. He now uses his fitness app, Centr, to follow 45-minute strength sessions combined with ice bath recovery.
Beyond these two major projects, Hemsworth is expected to begin filming the third Extraction movie later this year, reuniting with director Sam Hargrave for what is rumored to be his most physically demanding role yet.
Even off set, Hemsworth maintains his presence in fashion circles, attending high-profile events in New York while balancing life at home in Australia. His ability to move from a gritty jewel thief to a god-like superhero shows his versatility as both an actor and a physical performer.
With Crime 101 performing well and big Marvel and Netflix projects ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Hemsworth. He continues to push the limits of his training and craft, keeping fans excited for every new chapter.
