Chris Noth has once again stirred the pot regarding his long-standing tension with former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker. During an appearance at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show in New York City on February 4.

The 71-year-old actor didn’t hold back when discussing his exit from the Sex and the City universe. Speaking with the Daily Mail, Noth admitted that he felt very lucky his character, Mr. Big, was written out during the premiere of the sequel series, And Just Like That.

The actor, who appeared to be in good spirits at the charity event, chuckled while explaining that he is actually very glad he wasn’t more involved in the reboot. These comments come years after the show faced a wave of mixed reviews and ended its run.

While Noth was originally meant to appear in a fantasy sequence in the first season finale, those scenes were famously scrapped following the emergence of sexual assault allegations against him in late 2021.

When asked if there was any chance of mending fences with Parker, Noth was blunt, stating simply no and asserting that the relationship is now over. This follows a highly publicized incident in January where Noth appeared to endorse a fan’s negative comment about Parker’s recent Golden Globe honor.

Although he later tried to downplay the interaction as a slightly sarcastic response that caused an unnecessary tempest in a teapot, it is clear that the bridge between the two former on-screen lovers has been burned.

The rift seemingly reached a breaking point due to the joint statement released by Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis when the allegations first surfaced. In a recent sit-down on the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, Noth expressed deep hurt over the fact that Parker never reached out to him privately.

He described the cast’s public show of support for his accusers as nothing more than brand management and said it was disappointing that a friendship of several decades didn’t warrant a phone call.

Noth argued that in a city like Hollywood, you should expect to hear the real scoop from a long-time friend before they make a public judgment. He claimed that if the roles were reversed, he wouldn’t have done that to her. He feels the lack of communication was incredibly hurtful and believes it changed everything about their relationship.

Despite the drama with the show’s leading lady, Noth appears to be on better terms with other members of the cast. At the fashion show, he was seen catching up with Mario Cantone, who played Anthony Marentino.

Cantone was quick to tell reporters that there is no tension between them and that he truly loved seeing him at the event. Noth also confirmed that he stays in touch with John Corbett and even reached out to Kim Cattrall for her birthday a few months ago.

As for his professional life this year, Chris Noth is currently mounting an acting comeback after a few years away from the spotlight. He recently completed work on a new horror film titled The Block, which marks his first major role since the 2021 allegations.

The film, directed by Craig Singer, stars Noth alongside Jack Falahee, Jackie Earle Haley, and Elias Koteas. It follows a former horror writer who overcomes writer’s block through a mysterious event, only to find that his renewed creativity comes at a dark price.

Do you think Chris Noth and Sarah Jessica Parker will ever be able to move past this feud, or is their decades-long friendship officially a thing of the past? Share your thoughts in the comments.
