Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson Star in ‘Mercy’: New Trailer Shows 90-Minute Race Against Death
Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Mercy, a new science fiction thriller starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson.
The movie, directed by Timur Bekmambetov and written by Marco van Belle, also features Annabelle Wallis and a supporting cast including Kali Reis, Rafi Gavron, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi, Kylie Rogers, and Jeff Pierre.
Set in the near future, Mercy follows Detective Chris Raven, played by Chris Pratt, who finds himself on trial for the murder of his wife.
He has just 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced A.I. judge, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson, before it decides his fate. Annabelle Wallis plays Chris’ wife, adding to the emotional stakes of the story.

The film was first announced in January 2024 as a project for Amazon MGM Studios, with Pratt attached from the start.
By March, Ferguson and Wallis joined the cast, and additional actors were added in the following months. Principal photography began on April 18, 2024, in Los Angeles, with Khalid Mohtaseb as the cinematographer. Chris Pratt suffered an ankle injury early in filming, sharing a photo of his swollen ankle on Instagram. Filming officially wrapped on May 23.

Mercy is now scheduled for release in the United States on January 23, 2026, after previously being set for August 15, 2025.
The newly released trailer gives audiences a first look at the high-stakes thriller, showcasing tense moments, futuristic technology, and Chris Pratt racing against the clock to save himself.
