Cobra Kai will return sooner than expected! Today, Netflix officially announced that the fan-favorite series will return on September 9. Netflix also revealed a first teaser trailer, which you can check down below:

Cobra Kai is a martial arts comedy-drama and a sequel to Robert Mark Kamen’s The Karate Kid original films. The show was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. The series premiered in May 2018 on YouTube Premium. After the first two seasons, the show was moved to Netflix. Season 3 aired on Netflix on New Year’s Day this year, and Season 4 premiered on December 31, 2021. Netflix renewed the series for Season 5 ahead of the Season 4 release, and we won’t need to wait for another New Year’s Eve for another season.

“Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help. Cobra Kai Season 5 premieres on September 9 only on Netflix.” — Cobra Kai Season 5, official description
