Corey Harrison is currently focused on a long road to recovery following a serious motorcycle accident that left him hospitalized with significant injuries. The reality star, affectionately known as “Big Hoss” by fans of the History series, shared the news on Monday, January 26, posting several photos from his hospital bed.

He revealed that he suffered 11 fractures in his rib cage and credited the crash bars on his bike for preventing even more catastrophic damage.

The accident took place in Tulum, Mexico, where Harrison has been residing since stepping away from his long-running television career. He described himself as pretty messed up, but I’m good while noting that he spent three nights in the hospital following the solo crash on his Harley-Davidson. In addition to the broken ribs, Harrison suffered a concussion, a hematoma, and required ten stitches in his hand, leading to a mandatory six-week period of bed rest.

The timing of the accident was particularly unfortunate, as it forced Corey to miss his father, Rick Harrison’s, expansive wedding celebration in Cancun. Rick and his new wife, Agripina “Angie” Polushkin, had legally wed in a small Las Vegas ceremony on January 3, but the larger event for family and friends was scheduled for this week.

Sorry Pops, looks like I’m missing your wedding, Corey shared on social media, though a representative confirmed that Rick was able to visit his son in the hospital shortly before the festivities began.

Despite the pain, Corey appears to be in high spirits and has already promised to give his followers a more detailed explanation of the incident. He plans to record a special episode of his new project, The Corey Harrison Show, to dive into the specifics of the crash. This transparency is a hallmark of his post-television life, as he continues to build a new identity away from the famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.

Corey Harrison officially moved to Tulum in late 2025 after expressing a desire to leave his reality TV persona behind. He famously stated that he could no longer play a younger version of himself for the cameras, choosing instead to focus on his personal life and his podcast venture. The Corey Harrison Show launched in July 2025 and features candid conversations about his life, his reflections on his time in the spotlight, and his new adventures in Mexico.

Meanwhile, Rick Harrison remains at the helm of the family empire and is actively developing a new iteration of their hit series, tentatively titled Pawn Stars 2.0. While the original show went on hiatus in early 2025.

Rick has teased that the next chapter will involve a mix of classic negotiations and new business ventures, including his successful restaurant, Rick’s Rollin’ Smoke BBQ & Tavern. Austin “Chumlee” Russell is expected to return alongside Rick, though Corey has maintained that he has no plans to rejoin the cast as a series regular.

Do you think the Harrison family can find the same success with a revamped version of their show, or was Corey’s departure the final piece that made the original format work? Share your thoughts in the comments.
