Courteney Cox first became a household name in 1994 when she joined the cast of Friends as Monica Geller. Originally considered for the role of Rachel, Cox was cast as the perfectionist, witty Monica, a role that would define her career for the next ten years.

The sitcom became one of the most beloved of all time, and Cox, alongside Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, became one of the highest-paid TV actresses, earning $1 million per episode for the final seasons, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

While Friends cemented Cox’s status in pop culture, she was also building a film career. In 1994, she appeared alongside Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and had a guest role on Seinfeld as Jerry’s girlfriend, Meryl.

Her breakout in film continued with the Scream series starting in 1996, where she played Gale Weathers. The character, known for her sharp wit and bossy charm, became iconic, and Cox reprised the role in several sequels, meeting her then-husband David Arquette on the first film set.

The Scream franchise remains one of the highest-grossing horror series ever, blending suspense with Cox’s standout performances. After Friends ended in 2004, Cox explored different types of roles and production work. She appeared in films like 3000 Miles to Graceland, The Shrink Is In, and Zoom, while also lending her voice to Barnyard.

In television, she starred in Dirt (2007–2008), a dark drama about a tabloid editor, and later led Cougar Town (2009–2015), a comedy about a newly single mom navigating life and love. Her work on Cougar Town earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and she directed several episodes herself, showing a new side of her creative talents.

Cox expanded into directing and producing during the 2010s. She made her directorial debut with TalhotBlond in 2012 and later wrote, directed, and produced Just Before I Go, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

She also executive-produced Celebrity Name Game and the Facebook Watch series 9 Months with Courteney Cox, exploring both entertainment and real-life stories in creative ways. She continued acting in films like Mothers and Daughters (2016) and reprised her Gale Weathers role in Scream 4 (2011), keeping a strong connection to her horror roots.

In recent years, Cox has returned to high-profile projects and mainstream visibility. She reunited with her Friends co-stars for Friends: The Reunion in 2021, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Special.

She reprised Gale Weathers for the fifth and sixth Scream films (2022–2023), both of which were box office hits. Cox also stars in the Starz horror-comedy series Shining Vale (2022), playing Patricia Phelps, a mother navigating family chaos in a haunted suburban home. In 2023, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, recognizing decades of work across television and film.

Alongside her professional achievements, Cox remains strikingly ageless, carrying her signature charm and energy into every role. She continues to balance acting, producing, and directing while staying connected with fans.

Upcoming, she is set to continue her work in Shining Vale and is involved in producing new projects through her production company. Cox has proven she can transition seamlessly between comedy, drama, and horror, making her one of the most versatile and enduring talents in Hollywood.

From Friends to Scream and beyond, Courteney Cox has built a career full of memorable characters, risk-taking projects, and creative reinvention. Her work shows a mix of dedication, humor, and talent that has lasted decades, and she remains as beautiful and captivating as ever.
