That second season of The Last of Us sure is something, eh? Yeah, the season has been receiving both praise and hate all over, but while the situation is developing among the fans, the series has been getting high numbers and praise from the critics.

But, to be fair, the series has been in the center of controversies from the very beginning, so the showrunners aren’t really surprised that this season is also receiving some very angry remarks.

In light of this fact, executive producer Craig Mazin talked to the press and he addressed these angry comments in a very simple and practical way, sending the angry fans a clear message.

As you know, even the second game has been a victim of unfounded criticism due to some plot decisions, even though it was a proper masterpiece. The series has been criticized by many as well and for various reasons, to be frank. Now that the second season is on the way and we are getting prepared for some controversial moments in the series, the angry fans are at it again.

Craig Mazin, though, doesn’t mind that. “That’s OK. I think they might think they’re angry with me. That’s fine,” he said. “I think they might just be angry, which is also OK. I mean, this show is designed to provoke some pretty intense feelings, and wherever those feelings go is fine. The most important thing is that they feel something. The worst thing would be if they went, ‘Eh!‘ Then, I would’ve really failed.”

This is a very practical approach to the issue and Mazin embraces the fans, even if they’re not embracing his decisions. It is important for the fans to react, and we can stand behind that; a show no one cares about, not even to be angry about it, definitely is not a show worth talking about.

But, while Mazin understands the emotional reactions, he also has a clear message for those who are angry at this point. “Give yourself time to see how you feel about it a week later, two weeks later. And I will say, give the show time. You may think it’s going this way, and it ends up going that way,” he said.

It seems that Mazin is teasing some twists and turns, which means that the upcoming weeks will certainly be interesting.
