“Hit-Monkey” is an adult animated TV series on Hulu, based on the Marvel Comics character, and is highly praised as one of the best Marvel projects to date. Created by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the first season was produced by Marvel Television and the second by 20th Television Animation. The show stars Ally Maki, Olivia Munn, Fred Tatasciore, and Jason Sudeikis, with additional cast members including Nobi Nakanishi, George Takei, and Leslie Jones.
Initially announced in February 2019, “Hit-Monkey” was part of a lineup of Marvel-based series intended to culminate in a crossover special titled “The Offenders.” Oversight of the series shifted from Marvel Television to Marvel Studios in December 2019.
With less than two months until the second season premiere on Hulu, Variety reports that Cristin Milioti has joined the cast of the popular show “Hit-Monkey.” Milioti will play Iris in Season 2, a character who vowed never to be like her father Bryce, who abandoned her. However, as fate reunites them, she realizes they are more alike than she thought, leading to a final reconciliation.
This is Milioti’s second recent comic book role, as she is also set to star as Sofia Falcone in the upcoming Max DC series “Penguin.” Milioti is known for her roles in the “USS Callister” episode of “Black Mirror,” Season 2 of “Fargo,” the Max series “Made for Love,” and the Peacock series “The Resort.” She has also appeared in films such as “Palm Springs” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
“Hit-Monkey” tells the tale of a vengeance-driven Japanese macaque, guided by the spirit of an American hitman. Their journey spans Tokyo’s criminal underworld to New York City. The main cast features Ally Maki as a committed cop, Olivia Munn as a determined figure, Nobi Nakanishi as a troubled yet loyal partner, Fred Tatasciore as the titular Hit-Monkey, George Takei as a compassionate politician, Jason Sudeikis as the ghostly mentor, and Leslie Jones in a role yet to be confirmed.
The upcoming second season comprises 10 episodes, all set to be released together on July 15th.
