Cristin Milioti Praises Robert Pattinson’s Dark and Emotional Take on Batman

Cristin Milioti recently shared her thoughts on Robert Pattinson’s version of Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and she had nothing but praise for the actor’s take on the iconic role.
During a recent interview, Milioti was asked about her feelings toward Pattinson’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne, and she opened up about how much she appreciated the emotional depth he brought to the character.
She said she was really drawn to how Pattinson played a version of Batman that felt raw and broken. “I love his interpretation because he really leans into the blurring of the line between someone who’s, like, so damaged, going out looking to feel things,” she said.
Pattinson’s Batman, first introduced in the 2022 film directed by Matt Reeves, was a darker and more emotionally complex version than fans had seen before. Instead of focusing on Bruce Wayne’s billionaire persona or flashy gadgets, the movie dug into the pain and trauma that drive him.
That’s exactly what Milioti found compelling, the idea that Batman isn’t just fighting crime, but is also struggling with his own inner demons. Milioti had nothing but praise for the movie as well:
“It’s really, really great. It’s a great movie, it’s so good. It’s dark. The other thing I think Matt did so brilliantly, if Burton is very heightened and sort of you’re almost like in an art deco, Matt’s film feels like it’s right now. It’s very, very real.”
Milioti, known for her performances in projects like Palm Springs and Made for Love, is no stranger to complex characters herself. Her most standout role in recent times is that in Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga, as the actress portrayed Sofia Falcone in The Penguin spinoff alongside Colin Farrell in the titular role.
The role of Sofia earned her major acclaim and awards, and based on some early buzz, we can assume that season 2 of the show is in development, and considering that Sofia survived the first season and is currently in Arkham Asylum, we can assume that she will reprise her role.
The praise from Milioti adds to the growing list of people in the industry who have spoken positively about Pattinson’s work in the role. With the sequel to The Batman already in development (but delayed several times already), it’s clear that Pattinson’s version of the character struck a chord, not just with audiences, but with fellow actors as well.
