Crunchyroll has officially revealed the release schedule for the remaining films in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy. Part 2 of Infinity Castle is set to arrive in 2027, with the final film scheduled for 2029.

This news comes after the first film’s global box office success, as reported by The Guardian.

Infinity Castle Part 1 premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, and was released internationally in August and September of the same year.

Mitchel Berger, Crunchyroll’s executive vice president and head of theatrical, told The Guardian, “We have spent the last eight years building this fandom. Coming out of the pandemic, that fandom has just continued to grow.”

Berger highlighted the importance of the franchise’s growth following the pandemic, noting that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train was one of the first major theatrical successes after theaters reopened. Its success helped demonstrate that anime films could achieve huge box office returns, even when many Hollywood studios were still cautious about releasing films in theaters versus streaming platforms.

Mugen Train’s performance marked a turning point for Demon Slayer, transforming it from a popular Shonen Jump series into a global phenomenon. That momentum has carried into Infinity Castle’s success and influenced other anime films, including Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

The strategy of releasing major anime stories as films rather than traditional TV seasons has also been adopted by other franchises, such as Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Dandadan, and Jujutsu Kaisen. Berger hinted that Chainsaw Man might continue this trend, with the “International Assassins Arc” potentially debuting as a theatrical film rather than a standard anime season.

The confirmed release dates for Infinity Castle give fans a clear timeline for the long-awaited conclusion to one of anime’s most popular franchises. With the series’ proven global appeal, anticipation is expected to build steadily over the next few years.
