Period drama press tours have increasingly become their own kind of storytelling exercise, with stars using their red carpet choices to echo the world their film depicts long before audiences ever step into the theater. Few actresses have leaned into that approach quite as thoughtfully as Daisy Edgar-Jones has throughout her ongoing promotional run.

Since kicking off the rollout for her latest project back in the summer, Edgar-Jones has steadily built a wardrobe narrative rooted in Georgian-era references, favoring empire waistlines and historical silhouettes over straightforward modern glamour. Her latest appearance, though, pulled from a slightly different well of inspiration.

New behind-the-scenes photos from makeup artist nikki_makeup show Edgar-Jones getting ready for her ‘Sense and Sensibility’ press tour in a silver-blue satin gown, part of a look she debuted at the film’s Berlin premiere on September 22, pulled directly from Armani’s spring 2005 couture archives.

The gown, brought out specifically for the occasion from Armani’s private archives, featured a subtle sweetheart neckline, a petaled hemline, and a mermaid silhouette with a slight train. Elaborately structured cap sleeves with silver tassels and beading offset the dress’s liquid-like draping, giving the overall look a distinctly sculptural quality.

Rather than styling the gown exactly as it originally appeared on the couture runway, complete with a structured headpiece and slicked-back hair, Edgar-Jones opted for a softer approach, wearing her hair in long, loose waves for the Berlin appearance. That choice marked a shift from her earlier tour looks, trading straightforward historical dressing for a more playful nod to old-world grandeur.

Completing the Berlin look, Edgar-Jones wore more than $51,000 worth of jewelry from Boucheron, the historic French jewelry house she’s served as an ambassador for since September 2025. That partnership has quietly turned much of her ‘Sense and Sensibility’ press tour into a showcase for the brand, with high-value pieces appearing across multiple stops on the promotional circuit.

This marked the third distinct premiere look Edgar-Jones has debuted for the film specifically, following a corseted custom Vivienne Westwood gown at the London premiere the week prior, further reinforcing just how deliberately styled this entire rollout has become.

Edgar-Jones leads the ensemble as Elinor Dashwood, the responsible eldest sister at the emotional center of Jane Austen’s story, marking the first major theatrical adaptation of the novel since Ang Lee’s celebrated 1995 version starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. Directed by Georgia Oakley, the film also stars Caitríona Balfe, Esmé Creed-Miles, and George MacKay.

Her casting arrives at a particularly strong moment in her career, following major box office success with 2024’s ‘Twisters,’ which grossed more than $370 million worldwide, alongside earlier acclaim for her breakout performance in ‘Normal People.’ That combination of commercial and critical credibility has made her an increasingly closely watched presence on the fashion side of her promotional work as well.

With ‘Sense and Sensibility’ arriving in UK theaters September 25 ahead of its October 16 U.S. release, Edgar-Jones’s carefully curated series of press looks has helped keep the film squarely in the entertainment conversation throughout its final promotional stretch. Between the archival fashion choices and her rising box office pedigree, anticipation for the film’s actual release continues building right alongside her wardrobe.
