Daisy Edgar-Jones’s Lilac Chloé Dress Might Be the Most Romantic Look of Her ‘Sense and Sensibility’ Press Tour

Few stars turn a promotional run into a full-blown fashion narrative quite like Daisy Edgar-Jones, and her ‘Sense and Sensibility’ press tour style has become a story of its own. Her carefully curated series of press looks has helped keep the film squarely in the entertainment conversation throughout its final promotional stretch.

The stakes are high for this Jane Austen revival. Georgia Oakley directs the new take on the classic, with Diana Reid adapting the screenplay, and the story follows sisters Elinor (Edgar-Jones) and Marianne Dashwood as they navigate love, loss, and financial uncertainty after being forced to leave their family estate in Sussex. The film arrived in UK theaters on September 25, ahead of its October 16 U.S. release.

Her latest appearance leans fully into soft, storybook romance. As spotlighted by JumpTrailers, Edgar-Jones wore a lilac Chloé dress for the ‘Sense and Sensibility’ press, featuring voluminous sleeves with ruched detailing, ruffles along the hem, and several light-colored ribbons tied throughout.

The account also pointed out that the ruching at the bust and the little bows give the piece an even more detailed finish. In the photos, a pale ribbon cinches the dress just beneath the bust before the skirt flares out in a ruffled swirl, making it one of the most playful looks of the entire rollout.

This isn’t the first time the French house has shown up during this campaign. Edgar-Jones previously stepped out in a beige minidress from Chloé’s spring 2026 collection, featuring whisper-thin straps, a draped bodice and a giant hip bow faintly reminiscent of a bustle, while on her way to BBC Radio. She also paired the tour with a beige Chloé bodysuit that blended lingerie dressing with the film’s romantic mood.

The lilac number sits within a wildly varied wardrobe. To kick off the press tour earlier this summer, she wore an empire-waist mini dress that subtly nodded to the Georgian era in which the Austen story is set. At the Berlin premiere on September 22, she debuted a silver-blue satin gown pulled directly from Armani’s spring 2005 couture archives, following a corseted custom Vivienne Westwood gown at the London premiere the week prior.

She hasn’t been afraid to break the period mold, either. Less than 24 hours after the premiere, she left a BBC Radio station in London wearing an ivory military jacket from Alexander McQueen’s spring 2026 collection, styled with slouchy low-rise jeans. For an Everyman x Soundtracking screening and Q&A in London, she opted for a sheer black lace ShuShu/Tong dress with hot-pink undergarments.

Edgar-Jones and Chloé share a history that predates this film. During her ‘Twisters’ press tour, she wore a full look from Chemena Kamali’s fall 2024 runway show for the brand, after Kamali’s debut collection set off a boho resurgence among the celebrity crowd. Much of that style evolution has been credited to celebrity stylist Dani Michelle.

That boho sensibility now seems to be merging with Regency-era sweetness. The ribbons, ruffles and puffed sleeves of this latest dress read like a modern wink at the costumes on screen, without tipping into cosplay.

It also offers a nice contrast to what came before. Austen’s novel was most notably adapted in Ang Lee’s 1995 film, starring Emma Thompson as Elinor Dashwood and Kate Winslet as Marianne, and Edgar-Jones seems intent on giving her version of Elinor a fresh, fashion-forward identity off-screen as well.
