‘Dandadan: Evil Eye’ Movie to Premiere in June Ahead of Anime’s Second Season, Teaser Released

Dandadan has been one of the biggest hits of 2024. The quirky shonen anime series became a beloved title and while the success shouldn’t come as a surprise, we’re still thrilled that the series is such a major hit.

The first season of the anime ended with 12 episodes, but a second season had been announced immediately and we know that it is set to premiere on July 3, 2025 under the title Evil Eye.

But, there is something else! Do you remember how the first three episodes of Dandadan were released in cinematic format under the title First Encounter? Well, the second season is getting an identical treatment!

It has been confirmed that the first three episodes of the second season of Dandadan will be released as a movie under the title Dandadan: Evil Eye. The movie is scheduled to be released on May 30 in Japan and on June 7 in the rest of the world. A teaser has also been released:

The first movie earned a solid $1.1 million during its limited release and it helped boost the anime’s popularity. In light of the anime’s popularity, this seems like a great move that will further increase the hype ahead of the second season’s premiere.

DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult geek. In this new arc, Momo and Okarun set out on their latest adventure, traveling to a hot springs town home rented by Jiji, Momo’s childhood friend and former crush, with the goal to solve the mystery surrounding his family. When they arrive, strange locals derail their investigation before it can properly begin, and the group soon learns there’s more lurking under the surface of the town than they could possibly have imagined.
