Daniel Craig Accidentally Broke Dave Bautista’s Nose During ‘Spectre’ Fight Scene
Daniel Craig once shared a behind-the-scenes story from the filming of Spectre, revealing that he accidentally broke Dave Bautista’s nose during one of their intense fight scenes. The two actors faced off in the brutal showdown between Bond and the assassin Mr. Hinx, a sequence often highlighted as one of Craig’s most memorable action moments in the franchise.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show to promote his final Bond film, No Time to Die, Craig admitted he panicked after hitting Bautista. “I threw a punch and hit him on the nose,” Craig recalled. “I heard this crack and I was like ‘Oh God no’ and ran away. I thought he was going to come after me, but he was so sweet.” Bautista quickly reset his nose, allowing filming to continue. “He’s a lot tougher than I am. I’ll give him that,” Craig added.
The stunt work wasn’t without risks for Craig either. He described how Bautista unintentionally caused a knee injury while performing a throw during the same fight scene. “I ended up on the wall, but my knee was over here somewhere,” Craig said. “I knew and it was horrible because if anyone’s had a serious injury, you just know in your head that something is really wrong.”
This story gives fans a rare look at the physical challenges actors endure to bring Bond’s fight scenes to life. It’s clear that both Craig and Bautista took the action seriously, even when accidents happened.
