Missed Clue in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Post-Credits Scene Confirms Gambit’s Survival: Could Channing Tatum Return?

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the latest installment in the MCU, and it’s currently shattering box office records while thrilling fans across the globe. A significant part of its success comes from the appearance of several legacy characters from other Marvel properties.
While Garner’s Elektra, Snipes’ Blade, and Evans’ Human Torch all received fitting conclusions to their stories, one character’s appearance suggests that his story might just be beginning.
We’re talking about Channing Tatum’s Gambit. Tatum has been campaigning for a solo Gambit movie for nearly a decade, but after the change in ownership of 21st Century Fox, those plans were shelved indefinitely. However, Ryan Reynolds has breathed new life into Tatum’s Gambit, sparking fresh hope that the actor might still get his chance to portray the character in a solo film—a possibility Tatum hinted at in recent interviews.
Even if a solo Gambit movie doesn’t materialize, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ may have left the door open for Gambit to appear in future MCU projects.
A theory shared by the Instagram profile Just The Nobodys suggests that Gambit managed to escape the Void, indicating that he could make a comeback.
I have to admit, the plot of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was pretty thin, with numerous plot holes and loose ends—enough to fill an entire article on that subject alone. However, the post-credit scene might have tied up at least one of those loose ends.
Tatum recently hinted that he’s had discussions with Feige and Iger about a solo movie, saying it’s now in “God’s hands.”
I sure hope so. From your mouth to God’s ears. Write it into existence, my friend. Please. […] I’ve course I’ve said it. I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years. It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God.
