Deadpool Sneaks Into New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Merch, Reigniting Cameo Speculation
Few questions surrounding ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ have generated as much debate as whether Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will show up. The Merc with a Mouth hasn’t been officially confirmed for Marvel’s massive crossover, yet the rumors simply refuse to die down as the film’s December 18 release approaches.
The speculation has been fueled by mixed signals. The Hollywood Reporter previously reported that Deadpool would appear in the film, though not as a member of the team, while Reynolds himself has insisted he hasn’t set foot on the ‘Doomsday’ set.
Now the conversation has picked up again thanks to an unexpected source: a T-shirt. New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ merchandise, released as part of a partnership between Marvel and Adidas, appears to feature a tiny Deadpool tucked into its design, and fans quickly zoomed in.
The shirt features Doctor Doom’s name in massive yellow lettering, with his silver-gloved hand tearing the letters open into 5 windows. Each opening reveals major Marvel heroes, including characters from the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, both of which are confirmed for the film.

But it’s the gap by Doom’s thumb that has fans talking. Inside it, a small Deadpool can be seen waving while riding a unicorn. According to The Direct, the drawing resembles the visual style of the ‘Deadpool 2’ credits, though the shirt makes him look more like a stick figure.
Reynolds has spent months teasing fans without giving anything away. He once posted the Avengers logo covered with a red spray-painted “A”, seemingly the work of Deadpool, though he later explained it came from an unused flag design for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’.
At the Toronto International Film Festival, he joked to Entertainment Weekly that he had written 4 Deadpool Easter eggs into ‘Doomsday’ at home in his pajamas. In the same breath, he claimed nobody had seen them and that he hadn’t set foot on set.

He has also expressed reservations about the character joining a team. Reynolds once told Time that Deadpool becoming an Avenger or an X-Man would mean the end, explaining that he likes the character being isolated.
The biggest tease came at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Reynolds appeared in the crowd during Marvel’s Hall H panel wearing Deadpool’s gray suit from the X-Force comics, asking the cast if they needed any last-minute additions.
He also asked Paul Rudd why Thor was crying, referencing footage from ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, and wanted to know when they would shoot ‘Doomsday’. He was told the movie was already finished, which ScreenRant noted seemed to imply no Deadpool appearance.
Still, Reynolds confirmed earlier that month at Fanatics Fest that a new ‘Deadpool’ film will come to fruition at some point. His character entered the MCU in 2024’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.
Merchandise has hinted at surprises before, but it can also simply celebrate the broader Marvel universe. Whether the waving Deadpool is a clever wink or a genuine clue remains to be seen. The film already features a huge ensemble, including ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ standout Channing Tatum as Gambit.
If Deadpool doesn’t make it into ‘Doomsday’, ScreenRant suggested that 2027’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ could be a more likely destination. With roughly 2 months to go, fans will soon find out whether the unicorn-riding Merc truly crashes the party.
Do you think Deadpool appearing on the new ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ shirt is a real hint at a cameo?
