Deborah Ann Woll Teases Karen Page’s Future After ‘Daredevil’ Ends
For more than a decade, Deborah Ann Woll has been the heart of Hell’s Kitchen as Karen Page. She first brought the character to life in Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ from 2015 to 2018, appeared in ‘The Punisher’ and ‘The Defenders’, and returned for Disney+’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’.
Now, that long journey is heading toward its conclusion. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will end with its upcoming third season, and Woll has said the news didn’t come as much of a surprise to her.
While promoting her new thriller ‘The Cycle’, Woll opened up about what fans can expect from Karen’s final chapter. Speaking with Collider, she explained, “My hope would be that by the end of this, you feel like there’s a logical conclusion to the arc that she’s been on, which is what it is to be a hero, right?”
She added that she hopes Karen’s ending suggests something new rather than a full stop. According to Woll, she wants audiences to imagine that when the screen fades to black, Karen is simply heading off to stop another kingpin, making the finale feel like the beginning of a fresh chapter.
Woll also reflected on how much the role has meant to her, noting that Karen has been part of her life for 12 years. True to form, she kept specific plot details under wraps, offering no names or hints about Karen’s final confrontation.

Throughout the series, Karen has stood apart as a character who fights injustice without superpowers. Her investigations have repeatedly put her in the path of dangerous people, yet she has rarely walked away from a fight for the truth.
That determination is exactly what Woll hopes the final season honors. Her comments suggest Karen’s arc will center on whether someone can be their own hero, a fitting theme for a character defined by persistence rather than powers.
The announcement that ‘Born Again’ will conclude with Season 3 raised questions about the future of Matt Murdock and his allies in the MCU. Woll has said that, in her mind, Karen is a full person whose life will continue and who will keep fighting injustice, even if future appearances are up to Marvel.
She previously expressed confidence that the final season would honor the stories of every character, saying so while the cast still had a few days of filming left. Marvel renewed ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ for a third season in September 2025, months before Season 2 premiered. Dario Scardapane returns as showrunner, and filming reportedly took place in New York from March to July 2026.
Season 2 premiered on March 24, 2026, and closed with its finale on May 5, after Daredevil and Jessica Jones led an uprising against Mayor Wilson Fisk. Set photos from the new season have also shown Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist on set, fueling excitement for a long-awaited Defenders reunion.

The returning cast is expected to include Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio and Krysten Ritter alongside Woll. Marvel has not announced an official release date, though many expect the season to arrive around March 2027.
For longtime fans, the end of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ marks the close of an era that began on Netflix more than 10 years ago. Woll’s hopeful perspective, however, suggests Karen’s story won’t feel finished so much as transformed. If Woll gets her wish, viewers will leave Hell’s Kitchen believing Karen Page is still out there, chasing the truth and taking down the next kingpin.
