Saturday Night Live has announced the hosts and musical guests for the last episodes of its 51st season this year. According to NBC, Josh O’Connor and Ariana Grande will each host an episode in December.
Josh O’Connor, who stars in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, will make his SNL debut on December 13. He will be joined by Lily Allen as the musical guest. “I’m excited to be hosting SNL for the first time,” O’Connor said in a statement.
Ariana Grande will return to host on December 20, which will be the final episode of the year. Cher will perform as the musical guest for that episode, marking her first time on SNL since 1987. “It’s so special to have Cher perform on the show with me,” Grande said.
Before these December episodes, Melissa McCarthy will host on December 6 with Dijon as the musical guest. This will be McCarthy’s sixth time hosting SNL. She previously won an Emmy for her hosting in 2017. Dijon will make her SNL debut that night.
O’Connor is also new to the SNL stage, while Lily Allen is returning for her second time as a musical guest. Grande has hosted SNL twice before, bringing her mix of music and comedy back to the show.
This season of SNL started on October 4 with Bad Bunny hosting and Doja Cat performing. Other hosts so far include Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser, Glen Powell, Amy Poehler, and Sabrina Carpenter.
