Demi Lovato is putting her health first. The singer announced on Instagram Stories on February 10 that she is canceling five shows from her upcoming It’s Not That Deep Tour. She explained that preparing for the tour made her realize she had overextended herself.

“While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible,” Lovato wrote. “To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”

Lovato addressed her fans, known as Lovatics, saying she was excited to perform but had to make this tough choice. The canceled shows include April 8 in Charlotte, April 12 in Atlanta, April 14 in Nashville, May 5 in Denver, and May 8 in Las Vegas.

Her April 10 show in Orlando will now take place on April 13, officially kicking off the tour. She added that tickets purchased through Ticketmaster or AXS will be refunded automatically. For tickets from resellers like StubHub or SeatGeek, fans should contact where they bought them. “In Orlando, all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date,” she said, and mentioned more tickets are available on her website.

The tour will now run for 18 dates across North America, from April 13 in Orlando to May 25 in Houston, with Adéla as the opening act. The concerts are in support of Lovato’s latest album, It’s Not That Deep, which was released in October 2025.

Lovato has been open about the physical toll touring can take. In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said, “It takes a toll on your body,” showing that her decision comes after careful consideration.

It’s clear Lovato is prioritizing her well-being while still giving fans a chance to see her perform live. Do you think artists should cancel shows to protect their health, even if it disappoints fans? Share your thoughts in the comments.
