Denise Richards Ordered To Pay Ex Aaron Phypers Amid High Stakes Divorce Fight
Denise Richards has been hit with a significant financial ruling as her contentious legal battle with estranged husband Aaron Phypers continues to intensify. On Wednesday, February 25, a Los Angeles judge ordered the 55-year-old Wild Things actress to begin paying Phypers $5,000 in monthly temporary spousal support.
The payments are scheduled to commence on March 5 and will remain in effect until the court provides further instructions. The court’s decision comes after Phypers, 53, claimed he was experiencing severe financial hardship following the collapse of his business interests in late 2024.
Despite the ongoing criminal case against him—which involves felony charges related to alleged domestic violence from October 2025—the judge ruled that he is entitled to financial assistance to maintain his “status quo” until the divorce is finalized.
Phypers’ legal team argued that since there has been no conviction, his right to support should not be hindered by the pending allegations. In addition to the monthly stipend, Richards was ordered to pay a lump sum of $30,000 to cover her ex-husband’s professional expenses.
This amount includes $25,000 for his legal representation and $5,000 for a forensic accountant. The actress will fulfill this obligation in $10,000 increments over the next three months, concluding in May.
A source close to Phypers described the monthly $5,000 as not much, especially when compared to the reported $200,000 a month Richards allegedly earns from her successful OnlyFans account. The actress arrived at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse looking composed in an all-black leather ensemble, seemingly unbothered by the financial blow.
However, she has previously voiced her frustration regarding her ex-husband’s family and their public attempts to raise money through a GoFundMe page that mentioned her youngest daughter, Eloise.
When you cross a line and bring my youngest daughter into trying to get money from strangers, it’s outrageous, Richards stated during a recent podcast appearance. That is wrong.
Beyond the courtroom drama, Richards is staying active in the entertainment world as she navigates what she has described as one of the most painful years of her life. She is currently appearing as a “friend of” the cast on the latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which returned to Bravo.
Fans also got a more intimate look at her home life through her reality series, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, which followed her journey as a mother to daughters Sami, Lola, and Eloise, but the show was officially canceled last year in July.
On the film front, Richards recently starred in the supernatural action movie Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace, where she played a character named Deborah. She also has several independent projects in the pipeline, including the upcoming drama A Walking Miracle, which is currently in production.
Despite the heavy legal fees and personal stress, Richards has expressed optimism for this year, noting on social media that she is finally starting to feel like herself again after a year of “letting go” and facing betrayal. Phypers, meanwhile, remains focused on his legal defense and his claims regarding intellectual property rights over the content on Richards’ OnlyFans page.
He has asserted that he is entitled to half of those earnings, a claim that Richards has vehemently denied. As the divorce proceedings move forward, the actress continues to prioritize her children and her career, hoping to leave the turbulence of 2025 firmly in the past.
