Sean “Diddy” Combs is adjusting to life at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey, according to new photos obtained by reporters.

The hip-hop mogul was spotted chatting and laughing with other inmates in the prison yard on Saturday, showing a surprisingly relaxed side during his sentence.

In the images, Diddy is bundled up in a dark blue coat, gray pants, and a gray beanie. At one point, he appears to shake hands with another inmate, suggesting he’s making connections and fitting in with his fellow prisoners.

The photos mark the second public glimpse of the rapper in prison, following earlier images showing him looking more solemn in a bright orange beanie.

Combs was transferred to Fort Dix earlier this week. He requested the move to the low-security facility so he could participate in the prison’s residential drug treatment program.

His lawyer, Teny Geragos, wrote to the judge that the transfer would allow Diddy to focus on rehabilitation while also maximizing family visits. Fort Dix, located about 34 miles east of Philadelphia on the McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst military base, is one of several federal prisons offering drug treatment programs.

Diddy was convicted in July on two counts related to the Mann Act after allegedly flying girlfriends and s** workers across the country for drug-fueled se*** encounters.

He was acquitted of more serious s** trafficking and racketeering charges. He has already served around 14 months of his 50-month sentence and is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028, though participation in prison programs could reduce his time.

Earlier this week, his legal team asked a federal appeals court to quickly review the legality of his conviction. Combs has also reportedly requested a pardon from President Donald Trump, though no decision has been announced.

Despite the seriousness of his sentence, Diddy has spoken about using his time in prison for personal growth. In a letter to the judge, he said he has undergone a “spiritual reset” and is committed to remaining drug-free, non-violent, and peaceful.

Combs’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, told reporters that while he had concerns about Diddy in prison, the rapper seems to be handling it well. These recent photos showing him laughing and socializing suggest that he is finding ways to stay positive during his time behind bars.

It’s a rare look inside the life of one of hip-hop’s most famous figures while incarcerated, and fans are reacting with curiosity and surprise.
