Steven Spielberg is back at it, and this time he’s diving into a fresh sci-fi tale. His latest project, ‘Disclosure,’ has officially started filming, bringing together some big names for what’s shaping up to be a major UFO-themed movie. It’s an exciting moment for us who’ve followed his career, especially since he’s returning to a genre he’s nailed before.

The cast alone is enough to grab attention. We’ve got Emily Blunt leading the charge, alongside Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell. That’s a mix of heavy hitters and rising stars, each bringing their own flair. Blunt’s been killing it lately with films like ‘A Quiet Place,’ while Firth’s got that timeless charm from ‘The King’s Speech.’ Domingo, fresh off buzz for ‘Rustin,’ adds extra weight. It’s a lineup that promises something special.

Spielberg’s teamed up with David Koepp again for this one. Koepp’s the guy who wrote ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘War of the Worlds’ with him, so they’ve got history. This time, the story’s an original idea straight from Spielberg’s mind, centered on UFOs. No one’s spilling the full plot yet, but it’s safe to say it’ll blend that classic Spielberg magic—think awe, tension, and heart. He’s done aliens before with ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and ‘E.T.,’ so he knows how to make them stick with you.

Filming kicked off in New Jersey, with scenes already popping up around places like Woodbine and Cape May. Locals have spotted Blunt and Russell on set, and Spielberg’s been hands-on, directing right there by railroad tracks and small-town streets. The production’s set to stretch through the summer, hitting spots like Atlanta and New York too. It’s got a release date locked for June 12, 2026, giving us plenty of time to get curious.

What’s cool here is how Spielberg’s mixing things up. This isn’t a sequel or a remake—it’s a brand-new story. After his more personal ‘The Fabelmans’ in 2022, he’s swinging back to blockbuster territory. Koepp’s hinted it’ll feel like those early sci-fi classics we love him for, but with a modern twist. Add in cinematographer Janusz Kamiński, who’s shot nearly every Spielberg flick since ‘Schindler’s List,’ and the visuals are bound to pop.

The title ‘Disclosure’ has folks talking too. It’s not tied to that ‘90s Michael Douglas thriller—different vibe entirely. Instead, it nods to UFO lore, maybe hinting at secrets unraveling. With a cast this strong and Spielberg steering the ship, I’m betting it’ll be a wild ride. We’ll have to wait a bit, but it’s already looking like a must-see.
