Disney is increasing the subscription prices for its streaming services in the U.S., including Disney+ and Hulu, effective next month.

According to the company, the standalone Disney+ plan with ads will go up from $9.99 to $11.99 per month on October 21, 2025, while the premium version without ads will rise from $15.99 to $18.99 per month. Hulu’s basic plan with ads will also increase from $9.99 to $11.99 per month, though Hulu’s no-ads premium plan will stay at $18.99 monthly.

ESPN Select, the service previously known as ESPN+, will also see a small price increase from $11.99 to $12.99 per month on the same date. For now, the introductory price for the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle with ads will remain $29.99 per month for the first year.

These changes had been planned for several weeks, according to Disney sources. However, the announcement comes shortly after some users reported cancelling their subscriptions following the temporary suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show on ABC.

The suspension came after the host made comments about the killer of Charlie Kirk, drawing attention from FCC chair Brendan Carr and prompting local TV stations, including Nexstar Media and Sinclair, to preempt the show temporarily.

Disney later confirmed Kimmel’s return to ABC, although the two station groups said they would continue not airing the show for now.

The price increases apply across most Disney streaming bundles and services. While some plans like Hulu Premium remain unchanged, several others, including Disney+ with ads and Hulu with ads, will see significant jumps.

In a statement, Disney highlighted that the price changes reflect the company’s continued investment in content and technology to improve the streaming experience.

These hikes may affect viewers who are already sensitive to subscription costs, especially as cancellations have already been reported amid recent controversies.
