Marvel fans won’t have to wait much longer to watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps at home. Disney+ has confirmed that the film will start streaming on November 5.

The movie, which earned over $521 million worldwide during its summer run, became one of 2025’s biggest superhero hits and marked the team’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Matt Shakman, the film follows the iconic group of heroes, played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, as they protect Earth from Galactus, a cosmic force bent on destruction.

The story takes place in a retro-futuristic version of the 1960s, giving the movie a unique visual style that sets it apart from other Marvel titles. The cast also includes Julia Garner, Sarah Niles, Mark Gatiss, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson.

According to Disney and Marvel Studios, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the 37th film in the MCU and serves as the first movie in Phase Six.

It’s also the second reboot of the franchise after earlier versions struggled to win over audiences. This time, Marvel decided to skip the traditional origin story and jump straight into the action, letting fans see the team already established as heroes.

The project has been in the works for several years. After Disney’s 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Marvel regained control of the Fantastic Four and began developing a fresh version. Jon Watts was first attached to direct but later exited the project, and Shakman took over in 2022.

The script went through several rewrites, with Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer all contributing to the final version.

Filming began in 2024 at Pinewood Studios in England and continued on location across England and Spain. The movie premiered in Los Angeles on July 21, before releasing in U.S. theaters on July 25. It received mostly positive reviews and became the highest-grossing Fantastic Four movie ever made. A sequel is already being developed by Marvel Studios.
