Disneyland’s Evil Queen Actress Speaks Out After Chilling Firing — And Her Claims Are Turning Heads
A performer who became famous online for playing the Evil Queen at Disneyland has opened up about losing her job and leaving the park after nearly a decade. Actress and singer Sabrina Von B., who gained a huge fan following through viral videos of her sharp and funny character interactions, said the sudden end to her Disney role came as a shock.
Von B. shared her story in interviews after the news spread online. She said she had worked at the California theme park for eight years before being dismissed in early January.
According to her, the exit happened quickly and without much warning. “It happened a lot more quietly than you would think. I was walked out of the gates… I walked out of the same gates I walked in from my first day there.” She described the experience as emotional and said she did not get the chance to say goodbye the way she hoped.
Her Evil Queen character had become popular with guests visiting the park. Clips of her quick comebacks and playful attitude spread across social media, drawing fans from around the world who wanted to meet the character in person. Even so, she explained that her growing online fame was not the main reason she was fired. “The virality played a small role, but ultimately, the popularity of my character was not why I was let go.” She also said the decision was not related to her age, appearance, or job performance.
Disney requires its character performers to keep their real identities private in order to protect the illusion for guests. Now that she is no longer employed by the company, Von B. has revealed herself publicly and has gained millions of followers who want to support her next steps. She admitted that the company’s rule about staying anonymous can be difficult for performers who want to build their own careers. “Not even making it like a possibility to come out publicly and show your work definitely is a bit of a weird spot to be in, but you know, it’s part of the job when you sign up for it.”

She said leaving the role felt like ending a long double life. “I’ve been playing this character for a long time, but then, people are finding out it’s me. It’s like a big reveal. It just sort of feels like that double life is now formed into one.” The performer explained that the Queen’s personality often took over during her shifts and that the role relied heavily on improvisation. “The Queen really just takes over. It’s a huge improv exercise.”
Von B. also shared frustration about how the situation was handled. “I wish Disney treasured or valued their cast members in a way, and realized the value that every individual brings to their company, before sort of removing them.” She said she loved the job and hoped to leave on her own terms someday. Losing it suddenly felt like losing something close to her. “It’s like losing your best friend.”
Employment attorney Marina Fraigun spoke about the situation and explained that without knowing the exact reason for the termination, it is difficult to say if there is a legal case. She noted that the company’s rules and at-will employment policies make wrongful termination claims hard to prove in situations like this.
Since leaving the park, Von B. has focused on auditions and planning the next phase of her career. She said the support from fans has meant a lot, even though the job loss has created financial pressure. She joked that she could always work in a café if needed. “I’ve always wanted to work in a coffee shop.”
This story shows how complicated jobs in entertainment can be, especially when social media fame becomes part of the mix. Performers help create magic for fans, but they also want recognition and stability in their own careers. What do you think about this situation and Disney’s policies?
