Disney+’s Ms. Marvel: What Are The First Reviews Saying?

The upcoming Disney+ series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Ms. Marvel — is only two weeks away, and like always, we can always get some first thoughts and reviews about the series ahead of the premiere. So far, the first reviews that surfaced on Twitter have been positive, with many praising the lead actress Iman Vellani, who had no acting experience before this show.
Iman Vellani is playing Kamala Khan, a teenager and a fan of superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel, who will get a chance to become what every superhero fan is dreaming of — becoming a superhero herself. Vellani will debut as the character in the series, and she’s already set to reprise the role in the upcoming movie The Marvels, in which she’ll join forces with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau. The Marvels will hit theaters in July 2023.
“An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination-particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home-that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?” — Ms. Marvel, official synopsis

“First 2 episodes of #MsMarvel leave no doubt about the type of show this is. It’s a show for those of us who grew up watching the #MCU and fantasized about having powers of our own. It’s a coming of age story that works as a love letter to the genre.” — @CinemaStubs
“#MsMarvel is EVERYTHING I wanted. Iman is PERFECT as Kamala. After two episodes, I can’t wait to see what happens next. For those worried about the power changes, it works & still captures the heart of who she is as a person & a hero. Also, can we have a REAL Avengers Con?” — @ThatAshleyErin
